हाथरस। कला का कमाल किसी की डिग्री का मुहताज नहीं होता है। यह पेट की आग ही है जो कला को निखारती, संवारती और दौड़ाती है और इसकी गवाही देता है रेखा का परिवार। हजारों किलोमीटर से ब्रज की देहरी कहे जाने वाली हाथरस नगरी में परिवार के साथ पहले गणेश और अब दुर्गा की मूर्तियों को ऐसे सज और संवार रही है मानो बोलने ही वाली हैं।

        कला की कद्र भले ही इस जमाने में हो या ना हो, लेकिन कला का कमाल करतब को अंजाम दे रहा है। राजस्थान की राजपूताना माटी से आये रेखा के परिवार ने न जाने कितने घरों में गनपति उत्सव करा दिया और अब शारदीय नवरात्र के नौ दिनों की तैयारी में जुटा है पूरा परिवार। राजस्थान के उदयपुर जिले के गजसम्मा क्षेत्र से आया यह परिवार पिछले कई महा से हाथरस के अलीगढ़ रोड पर पीडब्ल्यूडी गेस्ट हाउस के सामने टेंट में मिट्टी की बेजान मूर्तियों में जान डाल रहा है। रेखा पत्नी गजा ने बताया कि गणेश चतुर्थी से काफी समय पहले वह अपने पति, बच्चों और अन्य कारीगरों के साथ यहां आ गई थी। उसने 50 रुपये से लेकर 15 हजार तक की लागत वाली गणेश की मूर्तियां बनाई थी। अब पूरा परिवार शारदीय नवरात्र में दुर्गा पूजन के लिए मूर्तियां बनाने में जुटा हुआ है। उसने बताया कि वह पहले तो हाथ से ही मूर्तियां बनाते थे, लेकिन अब तो सांचे से भी ढाल कर मूर्तियां बना रहे हैं। पहले मिट्टी की मूर्तियां बनती थी, लेकिन अब पीओपी से वह मूर्तियां बना रहे हैं, जो अपेक्षाकृत मिट्टी से मंहगी पड़ती हैं। इन मूर्तिकारों का कहना था कि मूर्तियां बनाने में जो मेहनत पड़ती है, उसका बाजिव मुल्य नहीं मिल पाता। उनका कहना था कि मूर्तियां बनाना उनका पैतृक काम है। वह अब और कुछ कर भी नहीं सकते। पूरा परिवार इसी तरह दूर दराज के क्षेत्रों भ्रमण करता रहता है और वहां के उत्सवों और कल्चर के हिसाब से मूर्तायों का निर्माण करता है। दुर्गा पूजन के समापन से पूर्व ही यह परिवार टेसू बनाना सुरू कर देगा। जिसकी दिपावली से पूर्व पूजा होती है। बताते हैं, महाभारत के युद्ध में भीम के पुत्र घटोत्कच के सुपुत्र बर्बाभान ने श्रीकृष्ण को प्रसन्न किया था। तब कलिकाल श्रीकृष्ण ने उन्हें आशीष दिया था की कलयुग में तुम्हारी मेरे नाम से पूजा होगी और तुम खाटूश्याम के नाम से प्रसिद्ध होगे। जो भी तुम्हें पूजेगा वह अन्न-वस्त्र से दु:खी नहीं रहेगा।

Earlier clay idols were made, but now those idols are being made from POP, which are relatively expensive than clay. These sculptors said that the hard work that goes into making idols does not get a fair price. He said that making idols is his ancestral work. He can't even do anything anymore. The whole family keeps on traveling to far flung areas like this and makes idols according to the festivals and culture there. This family will start making Tesu even before the end of Durga Puja.
